Introduction
I developed an interest in American Abstract Expressionist painting at an early age, which, has continued to be an influence in my life and work. My work has been in many group and solo exhibitions in galleries and museums such as The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia in and the Quinlan Center for the Visual Arts.
Style
I work with the intent on creating vibrant, deeply emotional paintings that are full of controlled energy, and that are deeply layered with purposeful marks. As much as possible, I enjoy creating large-scale works that invite the viewer to encounter and experience them personally rather than to merely observe them from a distance.
Practical Experience
In addition to maintaining a painting studio, I have worked as a gallery assistant, an art handler, cataloged museum collections and owned Further Polycontemporary Gallery in Atlanta. I also have taught painting classes regularly since 2011. My MFA is from SCAD Atlanta and I have a degree in animation from AIA.
Services
I offer a variety of art services, including works for sale, rentals to the motion picture industry and painting courses and talks in the North Idaho and Spokane area. I also offer consultation services to other artists of all levels and to galleries. Please contact me for more information.
